What is bird from horton hears a who?

The bird in Horton Hears a Who is a purple, short and round bird with a large beak. He is unnamed in the book, though later adaptations of the story give him the name of a Quark. The Quark is a fictional species created by Dr. Seuss, commonly found in the Horton universe. In the story, the bird is one of Horton's many animal friends who helps protect the tiny planet of Whoville from harm. Despite being small himself, the bird is very brave and determined to help Horton in any way possible. In the 2008 movie adaptation, the Quark is voiced by actress and comedian Amy Poehler.
